Juventus Name Previous Italy Head Coach the Experienced Gaffer

The Old Lady have chosen previous Italian national team head coach Spalletti as their manager for the remainder of the campaign.

Spalletti steps in for Igor Tudor, who was sacked following the loss to Lazio last weekend.

The former boss came on board in March filling the shoes of Thiago Motta but exited following a seven-month stint after an eight-game winless streak.

Spalletti led Napoli to the Serie A title in 2022-23 then moving on to lead the Italian national team, which missed out on the 2022 World Cup under former boss Roberto Mancini.

He secured their spot in Euro 2024 but were eliminated in the round of 16 by Switzerland.

However, Spalletti was sacked by Italy in June following a loss to Norway in World Cup qualifying, with the Azzurri at risk of missing out on a third consecutive World Cup.

Spalletti has also managed Inter Milan, Roma and Udinese in Serie A and won the Russian Premier League twice with Zenit St Petersburg.

Massimo Brambilla took interim charge of Juventus in the midweek 3-1 triumph over Udinese which left them seventh in Serie A - six points behind leaders Napoli after nine games.

They are 25th in the league phase of the Champions League, after recording one defeat and two ties in the initial three fixtures.
